About Me

My name is Mariam Ingrid Barry (she/her) and I'm a multi-disciplinary artist of Norwegian and African descent. I’m currently based in Vancouver, Canada, where I work in mediums from theatre and film to poetry.

 

I'm an actor, writer and producer with a love for all things creative. 

 

My art is grounded in my experience as a third culture kid in the diaspora. I grew up between Europe, Africa and North America and love exploring how this multi-lens feeds into my larger understanding of what it means to be Black around the world.

 

I have a BFA in Acting from the University of British Columbia and have worked as a youth arts facilitator and film editor for Reel Youth. In this position I mentored young people across Canada in filmmaking and the digital arts.
